India: AP tops in aqua exports

 HYDERABAD: The State ranked first in aqua exports and shrimp aquaculture, said Mohammed Fareeduddin, Minister for Minorities and Fisheries on Tuesday. He was inaugurating a workshop here today on ‘Health Management of Shrimp aquaculture,’ jointly organised by Department of Fisheries and the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO).

The minister said FAO has been providing the services of international experts in adopting good management practices.

He also inaugurated a Geographical Information System (GIS) Laboratory in the Commissionerate of Fisheries.

Fisheries principal secretary S Chellappa, Commissioner of Fisheries P Sundara Kumar, School Education secretary P Krishnaiah and others spoke on the occasion.
