Urner Barry Farmed Salmon Week in Review.

Chilean fillets were reported a bit soft by most as availability to the spot market appeared to have improved for a rather lackluster buying interest. Some importers reported a minimal slowdown in the retail sector which kicked back some product from programs into the spot market. Others reported full program bookings with only very limited availability to the spot sector. Overall, the market weakened slightly this past week and some offerings were reported lower, particularly for volume considerations. The supply outlook is mixed as some producers begin to tap into the new generation of fish. Airline delays continue to be an issue as cargo capacity declines - this could have an affect on near term availability.
